At Scholars of Sustenance (SOS) Thailand, we believe the future of sustainable food systems lies in the hands of today’s youth. That’s why we were honored to welcome passionate young leaders from the UN Food Systems Youth Leadership Program (YLP)—an initiative led by the UN Food Systems Coordination Hub and the FAO Regional Office.

During their time with us, these dynamic delegates dove deep into our Food Rescue Program. Through immersive workshops and hands-on learning, they explored how to identify surplus food, recover it efficiently, and combat food waste at scale. Their curiosity, commitment, and fresh perspectives brought new energy to our mission—and reminded us of the power of youth in shaping lasting change.

This experience wasn’t just about learning; it was also a vital stepping stone in their journey to the Preparatory Youth Conference for the 2nd UN Food Systems Summit Stocktake (UNFSS+4) held in Bangkok. Their involvement at this high-level gathering underscores a critical message: youth are not only stakeholders in food systems—they are changemakers leading the charge toward a more food-secure, sustainable world.
