Food Rescue Success Story! at THAIFEX–ANUGA Asia 2026

SOS Thailand at THAIFEX-Anuga Asia 2026

Key Highlights of Our Success

at THAIFEX–ANUGA Asia 2026

Scholars of Sustenance Foundation Thailand and our communities would like to express our sincere gratitude for the opportunity to meet all of you at THAIFEX–Anuga Asia 2026. We are proud to have partnered with THAIFEX for over 8 years to collect surplus food that would otherwise have been discarded!

This year’s event was held from 26–30 May 2026 at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok, Thailand. SOS Thailand operated a food donation point at Booth C11 in Challenger Hall 3, providing exhibitors and event participants with an opportunity to connect with our team and contribute surplus food for redistribution.

In addition to receiving food donations from exhibitors, our team joined representatives from the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC) and the Board of Trade of Thailand in visiting exhibitor booths throughout the event. These visits helped strengthen engagement with TCC member businesses and highlighted our role as a strategic sustainability partner and Thailand’s first food rescue organization.

16 Ton Rescued!

Creating Lasting Impact Since 2018

Over the past 8 years, we have rescued 16,749 kilograms of surplus food from more than 100 exhibitor booths at the event. This food was redistributed to low-income and vulnerable communities across Bangkok and surrounding provinces, supporting over 40 communities and delivering the equivalent of more than 70,300 meals.

Line chart of food rescued at events by year, rising from 804.76 kg in 2018 to 3,616.18 kg in 2026, with COVID-19 marked in 2021.

This year alone, 3,616 kilograms of surplus food were rescued and redistributed to communities in need across Bangkok and surrounding provinces. This achievement was made possible through the participation of over 60 exhibitors from 8 countries—Thailand, China, Vietnam, Türkiye, Italy, Malaysia, India, and the Republic of Korea—who joined our Food Rescue initiative during THAIFEX–ANUGA Asia 2026.

Four infographic tiles show 15K meals served, 3,616 kg food rescued, 64 exhibitors from 8 countries, and 19 communities reached.

Insights from this year's Food Rescue operation revealed that the Fine Food Zone contributed the largest share of rescued food, accounting for 69% of the total volume. The Sweets & Confectionery Zone contributed 16%, while the remaining 15% came from other exhibition zones across the event. On the final day alone, our team conducted food rescue operations across seven trade show zones to ensure that edible surplus food reached those who needed it most.

The impact extended far beyond the exhibition halls. More than 15,188 meals were redistributed to 19 vulnerable communities throughout Thailand, including 15 low-income communities, three NGO-supported groups, and one refugee community.

As Thailand’s first food rescue foundation, we sincerely thank all exhibitors, volunteers, and students from ‘Food For All Club’ at Concordian International School Bangkok for your generous support. Together, we are turning surplus food into meals for communities in need while proving that no good food should go to waste. Every kilogram rescued helps nourish communities, reduce environmental impact, and create a more sustainable food system for all.
