In 2026, Scholars of Sustenance Thailand once again welcomed a group of eager learners into our daily work by hosting 16 passionate interns from NHL Stenden University. What unfolded was more than an internship. It became a shared journey of understanding food rescue, community connection, and the true meaning of social impact.
This ongoing partnership reminds us that sustainability is not something learned only through theory. It is something felt, experienced, and lived alongside the people and communities it serves.

When Learning Becomes Real
Throughout their time with SOS Thailand, the interns stepped beyond classroom discussions and into real environments where food surplus and food insecurity exist at the same time. By observing operations, engaging with communities, and asking thoughtful questions, they began to see that every rescued meal carries effort, care, and intention behind it.
Food rescue, they learned, is not just about logistics. It is about responsibility, empathy, and collaboration.

From Numbers to Nourishment
One of the most meaningful moments of the journey was a visit to a Child Development Center, where the Healthy School Meal Program is part of everyday life.
Discovering Food Through Culture
To truly understand food systems, one must also understand culture. A visit to Nang Loeng Market, one of Bangkok’s oldest communities, offered interns a deeper perspective on traditional food practices and local livelihoods.
Growing Changemakers Together
We are sincerely grateful to NHL Stenden University for their continued trust and commitment to experiential learning. Through this partnership, we are not only sharing knowledge, but also shaping a new generation of changemakers who understand that meaningful change begins with compassion and action.
At Scholars of Sustenance Thailand, we believe that lasting impact grows from shared learning and genuine partnerships. We look forward to continuing this journey together, creating change one rescued meal and one human connection at a time.
