SOS Phuket is proud to launch the Cook for SOS program in Phuket! The program was pioneered first in Hua Hin, asking for volunteer cooking support for the people who would like to contribute to the vulnerable during a new wave of pandemics. In May 2021, SOS Phuket has followed the suit with the introduction of the program to the strong volunteer community under the collaboration with One Phuket community!
Since the start of the program in Phuket, Jack, our Food Rescue Manager in Phuket, has received more than 10 volunteer cooks' support from the expat communities on the Islands! We would like to thanks Ms. Tharina Botes, Miss Grand Phuket 2019 for being a part of our “Cook for SOS” program in Phuket. In addition to her contribution, she spent her whole day on our food rescue truck operation and distribute food at Holland house foundation and Phuket Disability Association to volunteer and cook for people there. This support has helped many children and disabled people during this difficult time.
We are still calling for more support in volunteering cooks. Any dish you can do will be delivered to the community in Phuket! You can help us help more people in need! If you cook at least 50 meal packages, SOS will pick them up and distribute them for you.
